7 December 2022 London: SF Group is very pleased to announce that the Geneva based International Code of Conduct Association (ICoCA) has appointed SF Group’s Executive Director and Chief Operations Office Crispin Kennedy to the position of Industry Pillar Director. The appointment calls for a private security company to represent ICoCA members in Europe and the United Kingdom.
ICoCA is a multi-stakeholder initiative formed in 2013 to ensure providers of private security services respect human rights and humanitarian law. It serves as the governance and oversight mechanism of the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers (the “Code”). Being ICoCA Certified provides assurance that a company’s operations and procedures comply with the Code. As part of their due diligence, clients across all sectors now require ICoCA Certification in the selection of their private security providers.
Salama Fikira was a founding signatory of the ‘ICOC (PSP) in 2010. Since that time Crispin has been their principle point of contact and has been responsible for the certification and recertification of the company’s membership of ICoCA. He is an active participant with ICoCA, representing SF Group at annual meetings and has hosted delegations of ICoCA in Africa.
Crispin is honoured by the appointment, noting “this is an excellent opportunity to build on the hard work of the previous regional director David Homus, I’m looking forward to working with the ICoCA to further develop the protection of human rights in the conflict zones and complex environments in which we all work.”
